Our pack meeting this month will be held on December 17th at 7:00 in Bells School. We will be distributing some awards for the boys, having a Pizza Party as a reward for selling popcorn, distributing Pinewood Derby Cars and Katelyn from Angels of God Clothing Closet will be our guest speaker. Last month we distributed “Scouting for Food” collection bags. Please return filled bags to this meeting we will be giving some of the food to Katelyn.
The Pinewood Derby is scheduled for January 25th. We will set aside some time at our January den meeting to work on cars. Angelo will bring a saw if anyone needs them cut and I will have a scale so you can get an idea of the weight requirements.
We will be spending the night at Fort Mifflin on February 2nd. The cost of this event is $31 per person and includes breakfast Sunday morning. This can be paid for with money earned from each boys individual fundraising account. You will be responsible for dinner on Friday. We will be sleeping in-doors in the fort.
Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser
Once again this we will be having a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s in Turnersville on Sunday February 10th. Tickets are $8.00 per person, we are asking each family to sell 5 tickets. Each scout will get a turn to “work” in the restaurant as a host or busboy either before or after they eat. Twenty five percent of money raised will go towards individual accounts for everyone who met their goal during the popcorn sale
Blue and Gold Banquet
Our annual Blue and Gold Banquet will be held at Masso’s Catering in Glassboro on February 24th. The banquet celebrates the anniversary of scouting and the crossing over of Webelos to Boy Scouts. Our Den will be doing a skit. We will also have a cake decorating contest for the boys. Cakes must not be store bought and please don’t make them too big (we always have extra). The theme of the cakes must either be Cub Scouts or magic. The cost of the event is $20 per guest, no cost for scouts.
National Constitution Center
On March 9th we will be visiting the constitution center in Philadelphia. This is a great event put together specifically for scouts and gives the boys the opportunity to complete several of the Bear requirements. Cost is $14 for scouts, $12 for adults.
