With Christmas less than a month away I want to update you all on a couple of upcoming events.
This Saturday December 7th is our trip to the Zoo. Check-in at the Zoo is 6:30 at the Shelly Administration Building located by the entrance gate in the Tiger Parking Lot. You are not permitted to bring any food into the zoo, so eat dinner before you get there. They will provide a snack Saturday night and Breakfast on Sunday. Additional information will be coming from Michell this week.
Den meeting on the 9th at Bells School 7:00. We will be working on the sled again.
December 14th we have a Webelos trip planned to Fort Mott in Pennsville with Troop 81. There is no cost for this trip. We are meeting at Wedgewood school at 4:00. Here is some information on the events at the fort from last year.
December 16th is or Pack Christmas Party. We will have Pizza for all scouts and their families. We will be giving gifts to Harley. A boy from Williamstown who lost his father this year and is living with his grandmother. All scouts will also get their pinewood derby cars. If you have collected any additional canned goods please bring them to this meeting. If you need collection bags let me know and I will give them to you this coming Monday.
We will not have a Meeting on the 23rd or the 30th because the schools are closed.
In January our Pinewood Derby is scheduled for Friday night the 17th. More information is coming soon.
January 18th is the official District Klondike Derby. This is when the boys get to race the sled we have been building for the last couple of weeks. The Derby is all day Saturday and the cost is $5 for Webelos and $5 for adults. I need to know ASAP who will be attending. I have to get registered and need a final headcount for payment.
I’d like to remind everyone we have a meeting this Monday night at 7:00 at Bell’s School. The boys will continue to work on the Klondike Derby Sled. I will be collecting donations for Harley and his family. They will be at our December meeting. I will distribute Food Drive bags to anyone who has not received them or would like more. We are collecting food again for the December Pack Meeting.
The calendar tab on this site has been updated to include all upcoming Pack events. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Due to low number of boys able to attend this weekend’s trip to Cedar Run we will be postponing the trip until the spring. I will let you know as soon as we confirm a date. Have a great week.
We have a Den Meeting schedule at Bells School on Monday November 4th at 7:00. The boys will be constructing a sled to use at Klondike Derby with help from Angelo. On next Saturday November 9th, we have a den trip planned to Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge in Medford. The Boys will complete the Naturalist and Forester Achievement. Cost of this trip is approximately $5.00 per person, siblings are welcome to attend. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
Remember this Monday night is Pack 381′s Halloween Party. All Scouts and their siblings should be in costume for the meeting. We will have prizes and we will be playing candy bar Bingo. Please bring one full size candy bar for each child you are bringing to the meeting.
We will also be collecting popcorn orders and have sign up sheets for upcoming events. Hope to see you all there!
Unfortunately, Cedar Run had one of their guides leave the refuge. They do not have anyone to work with our group on the 26th. I have rescheduled for November 9th. Hope you are all able to attend. I will have more details at our meeting on Monday. Please let me know by then if you are able to attend.
Remember, tonight is the recruitment night at 7:00 at Bells School. Scouts should be in full uniform to set the example for any new boys looking to join our Pack. We have lots of announcements, details on upcoming events, and additional sign ups for show-n-sales. If you have not submitted your registration for this year please bring it with you and if you will be attending Webelos Weekend in October we need payment tonight.
Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge
Please keep Saturday October 26th open. I am planning a trip to this wildlife refuge for all our Webelos. Throughout the day they will complete both the Forester and Naturalist Activity Badges. I will pass on additional information once the date is confirmed.
Welcome Back! Our first Den meeting of the year and our only Den meeting of September will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday September 16th at Bells School. Please bring your new Webelos handbook, they are available at Bob’s Hobby’s in Pitman or on-line. This meeting will be a chance to explain the Webelos program and set some rules and expectations for the year.
We will begin working on the Fitness and Athlete activity badges. I should also have details on our Webelos Weekend camping trip. Have a great week!
As we begin our first year with Webelos your involvement as a parent is vital. Scouting can help families teach their children a wholesome system of values and beliefs while building and strengthening relationships among family members. Our Den already has parents who are involved on committee but we always welcome more. If you ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of our Cub Scout Pack, attending one of our committee meetings is a great place to start.
Don’t feel you have to attend, just know you are always welcome. Do you have ideas for outings or events? We are not asking for much. Maybe you have a hobby or interest you can share, or a job the boys would like to hear about. We usually meet the first Sunday of each month. This month’s meeting is this Sunday at 7:00 at my house. The meetings are for parents only and usually last less than two hours.
Anyone interested in attending this Sunday please send me or Michell an e-mail or comment below. As always contact me anytime with questions.
